“Observations From The Coffee Shop” The Poetical Works & Writings of Ryan Havok

I like coffee shops.
Even in all there boisterousness of customers,
Jangling and banging of cups and coffee pots,
The hullabaloo, occasional pandemonium and fracas
From the one unpleasant customer,
You know,
The ones who have 15 minutes for lunch,
And go out and run people down on
The roads to get to the coffee shop,
Those ones.
In the boisterous booming buzz of it all,
It’s also the symbolical dwelling
Where sheer relaxation and pure inertia pervade
Every inch of your mind, spirit and soul.

"When I Was Young": The Poetical Works & Writings of Ryan Havok

When I was a kid I’d like to watch the rain come down.
For some reason I used to think that the large splashes that each heavy droplet of rain made,
Looking like they were taking form,
Were elves, or little gnomes,
Dancing on the puddles and in the streets when no one else wanted to.
I guess that was my escape from a rainy day stuck inside my apartment,
All the while the world waited under cover for the rain let up,
And here played these little dancing gnomes I had created in my imagination...
